'After playing bass trombone with Southend Band for three years, Andrew enthusiastically took
up the baton as Musical Director. His love of brass bands started almost thirty years ago
when he learned to play tenor horn in a youth band at the Salvation Army.
After a few years playing various instruments he settled on euphonium and trombone. Since
then highlights have included playing at prestigious venues such as the Free Trade Hall and
the Royal Albert Hall, as well as tours to France, Portugal, Switzerland and the USA. As well as his position with Southend Band, Andrew continues to play bass trombone with the
Melvin Beddow Big Band. |
